"The way for the church to begin to reach toward (its potential) is for it to see itself as a true family. . . . this is what God intends the church to be."

Wesley Nelson, in the book A Plan for Letting the Church become The Family of God

At First Covenant Church

We believe God offers. . . .

  • A new life, not matter what our past has been
  • A relationship with God through faith in Jesus
  • The Bible as our inspired guide for living
  • The Church as a place of love and worship and spiritual development
  • Empowerment for life
  • Freedom that unites us in the basics of the Christian faith and mission
  • Diversity that highlights each person’s unique personality and talents
  • Opportunities for healing, reconciliation, and service
  • Safety and comfort and rest to those who have been hurt
  • Women and men the privilege of and responsibility for service in the Church

God offers us love, forgiveness, and a new beginning in Jesus, who calls us to "Love the Lord with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind. And love your neighbor as yourself. . . . Do this and live."

The Gospel of Luke, chapter 10, verses 26-28.
